The value of a person should not be determined by status, salary or stereotype, but by their passion, purpose and dedication to making a contribution. When people are empowered to realize their potential, we all grow stronger as a community.

Since 1951, Coastal Center for Developmental Services has empowered people to live meaningful, integrated lives. Through our nationally accredited programs, we offer a variety of choices and person-centered guidance for more than 400 adults on their individual roads toward independence.
CCDS is a non-profit agency that provides employment-related services, training and community integration opportunities to adults with developmental disabilities.
Through its Community Employment Services (CES) program, CCDS strives to fully integrate adults with disabilities into meaningful jobs in a wide variety of professions. This empowers our individuals while educating the broader community of the significant contribution these adults can make in the workplace.
CCDS facilitates the process every step of the way by providing pre-screened applicants, customized job placement, and ongoing onsite training and support.
CCDS provides prevocational training through training programs that build skills that prepare the people we serve to have a successful career in the community.
Coastal Center has four training programs – Coastal Center Catering, Coastal Center Promotional Printing, Coastal Center Packaging Assembly, and Coastal Center Specialized Assembly – which offer versatile, practical training. The goal is to instill in trainees a sense of confidence, pride, and to prepare them for meaningful work in the community.
The CCDS Community Access Program offers adults with more substantial disabilities a wide array of services geared toward making them more self-reliant.
Services range from programs teaching daily self-care and communication skills to self-direction and other training to expand their opportunities for inclusion in the community and to become more self-sufficient. Certified therapists assist individuals in these areas as well as speech, occupational and physical therapy.
The CCDS Support Services program provides a proactive system of support to individuals and their families through advocacy, coordination, and linkage to community resources and support services. The program is designed to promote and enable each individual, and to be responsive to their unique needs.
In addition to case management services, we also offer health services, food services and transportation services.
Your contribution makes an enormous difference to both the people we serve and the communities we live in. With your help, we can continue locating meaningful employment and providing vocational training for adults with developmental disabilities.
